Whitman Hospital and Medical Center

Location: Colfax, WA

Whitman Hospital and Medical Center in Colfax, Washington faced many of the challenges that current hospitals face: Aging infrastructure and limited capital to address those needs. With different additions of the hospital constructed at different times, the systems were not collaborating in a way that was either beneficial or energy efficient.

Apollo's team of engineers crafted a custom solution that resulted in Whitman Hospital and Medical Center saving $62,760 annually on their energy costs. Additionally, ASG was also able to help Whitman's leadership team secure a $500,000 grant from Washington State Department of Commerce as well as $83,501 in utility incentives from AVISTA. The hospital now has a central hot water heating plant with variable volume pumping, new energy efficient ventilation system serving the 1968 building, new energy efficient roof, insulated walls, and new energy efficient windows in the 1968 building, new energy efficient air cooled chiller for the 1968 Building, reconfiguration of the Surgery AHU with fan wall technology and conversion from a multi-zone unit to a constant volume terminal reheat AHU with dehumidification and humidification capabilities
