Island Hospital is located in Anacortes, WA. The hospital first contacted Apollo in regards to their roof and central chilled water plant. Their roof had several leaks and their chilled water plant needed their oldest chiller replaced. The preliminary energy analysis yielded that they had many other energy saving opportunities on top of the projects they identified. Apollo also applied for an energy grant on the hospital’s behalf as well as utility rebate incentives through Puget Sound Energy. Apollo came up with a phased approach to replace the hospital’s again infra-structure while optimizing patient and staff comfort and saving energy.
Apollo Solutions Group’s first phase of work will be to install a hybrid premium efficiency, gas-fired condensing hot water boilers and variable volume pumping system, retrofit the Surgery AHU with fan wall technology, and a hospital wide lighting system retrofit to LED with exception of the 1962 building, which will get done in Phase II. The other phases of work are slated to occur in consecutive years.
